Our project was to create a tiny house using energy efficient methods over if you want to see the google slides on it click tiny house. When making the tiny house we prototyped a solar powered water heater. Our used mirrors copper pipes to hold the water however it only went up 2 degrees. we worked well together for this but were stopped by unforeseen problems. I contributed the mirrors idea and the end. Next we built a cardboard house and experimented with Windows. My contributions were helping design and helping build the fake house. After that did a materials heat test lab to find the best insulator. My contributions were helping build the insulation boxes.Next we made a blueprint design with a power, and budget at this link tiny house we also made a 3D model. We also explored wind turbines
We use the fact that the sun is at different angles at different times in the year to build our house most efficiently. This is shown by the overhang because it blocks the summer sun from getting into the window but not the winter sun.The day lighting techniques we used were clerestory windows and south-facing windows. We built the house with materials specific heat capacity in mind knowing that the higher the heat capacity The faster it coolers and heats but the lower heat capacity heats slower but stays hot longer. We heat the house with radiation from the Sun using the floors and wall to conduct heat so we do not have to use energy to run a heater. All energy comes from solar panels but it could also come from another source all of the sources are found in our energy justification. Reflection: over all this project went well I feel that I learned a lot and that everyone in the group contributed. The stuff I contributed are the building materials for the roof and Loft floor. Also the pricing for the studs and kitchenware and other assorted appliances.Overall I think this project was an amazing success it was incredibly fun
